The TNS Sport Management Team have a wealth of experience in the sports sponsorship and media intelligence sector, collectively spanning over 30 years.

Richard Brinkman, Head of TNS Sport

Richard Brinkman

Richard joined media planning, buying and strategy agency BBJ in 1991. As Sponsorship Director Richard specialised in football working on sponsorships for Carling, Tennent’s, Worthington, Littlewoods Pools and Coca-Cola. In 2001 Richard went to Chrysalis Radio as Sponsorship and Promotions Director, doubling profits from non-traditional advertising streams across the Heart, Galaxy and LBC stations to more than £6m.

After a period as a freelance Marketing Consultant Richard spent 9 months as Commercial Director at Watford FC where he devised a coherent sponsorship and commercial strategy.

In January 2009 Richard joined TNS Sport, the world’s leading specialist sports research provider. As well as working with federations like the Football League, FA, Premier League, Eredivisie, and French Ligue 1; teams such as Manchester Utd, West Ham and Chelsea; and sponsors including Barclays, E.on and Coca-Cola Richard is leading TNSS’ integration into WPP’s Kantar research group and the expansion of services into other areas of TNS expertise such as venue and reputation management.

Jody Clark, Sales Manager

Jody Clark

Jody joined the TNS Group in January 2004, having previously held a number of senior sales positions in other B2B organisations. Jody initially joined the Business Development Team within the Media Intelligence division, specialising in media and evaluation contract wins. In June 2009 Jody was appointed to head up sales for TNS’ dedicated sport sponsorship and research division, TNS Sport.

Andrew Green, Head of Client Services

Andy Green

Andrew joined TNS Sport in April 2005 as New Business Director, having previously held a senior Account Director at TNS in , Australia, having read Marketing at the University of South Australia.

In his role as Head of Client Services, Andrew and his team are responsible for managing our key sports sponsorship and research accounts. Including the English Premier League, Barclays, The Football Association, Adidas, Vodafone, Heineken, Chelsea FC, FIA, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) amongst others.

Andrew holds a certification in Sport Management from Deakin University.

Tony Stern, Head of Media Research

Tony Stern

Tony joined Sponsorship Information Services (SiS) in 1995 as a Research Assistant having completed an MSc in Sport and Recreation Management at the University of Sheffield. In October 2001, following the acquisition by TNS, SiS become TNS Sport. During this time, Tony has worked with a range of sponsors, governing bodies and rights holders including UEFA, FIFA, TEAM, Heineken, and Manchester United across a range of Media Evaluation, Rights Policing and International Television Audience Analysis projects.

Tony is Head of Production and runs all TNS Sport operational and technical issues. He is also heavily involved with development of evaluation systems and training of TNSSport people and services in other offices around the world.

Jack Murray, Head of Market Research

Jack Murray

Jack is highly regarded throughout the industry as a very capable researcher, spanning twenty years agency experience. Hi s specialist expertise and interests include market sizing and segmentation, sponsorship evaluation, stakeholder management research, NPD, brand positioning and pricing research.

Since joining TNS Sport in April 2008, Jack has worked with rights holders in cricket, rugby, speedway and horseracing; clubs and teams including Manchester United; venues and sponsors from across a breadth of industries.

In his role, Jack is responsible for developing Brand Goodwill Index (BGI), TNS Sport’s approach to measuring the level of equity of any brand within any sport.
